About This Place

Nestled in the vibrant heart of New York City at 65 4th Ave, IPPUDO NY delivers an authentic and memorable Japanese ramen experience that both locals and visitors cherish. This renowned restaurant specializes in Hakata-style ramen, a cuisine celebrated for its rich, creamy, and deeply satisfying tonkotsu broth, paired with perfectly al dente noodles. Whether you’re craving a classic or a more adventurous bowl, IPPUDO NY artfully balances traditional flavors with modern culinary finesse.

The menu is a delightful journey through Japan’s most iconic dishes. Signature offerings like the Shiromaru Hakata Classic and the hearty Tonkotsu Ramen showcase the warmth and depth of the pork-based broth, enhanced by tender chashu pork and vibrant scallions. For those seeking something with a bit of a kick, the fan-favorite Spicy Gyoza and crispy, flavorful Ippudo Wings set the perfect appetizer tone. Don’t miss the Ippudo Buns – soft, pillowy bao filled with succulent pork or equally enticing vegetarian options, celebrated for their delightful texture contrasts and meticulous seasoning.

Vegetarians are thoughtfully catered to with exquisite dishes like the Daizu No Chikara Miso ramen, which blends a unique miso-based broth with tofu chashu, fried onion chips, and thick wavy noodles, delivering a savory, umami-rich experience without compromise. The Nirvana Classic offers a soothing mushroom-infused broth featuring exclusive Japanese soy milk, complemented by aromatic garlic oil—both dishes proving that vegetarian ramen can be every bit as vibrant and satisfying as its meat-based counterparts.

Beyond ramen, IPPUDO NY’s menu includes tantalizing small plates such as Takoyaki, lightly charred Shishito Peppers, refreshing Cucumber Salad, and standout dishes like Miyazaki Wagyu Tobanyaki, which elevates the dining experience with indulgent, buttery beef preparations.

To accompany your meal, the beverage selection thoughtfully blends modern and traditional Japanese influences. Choose from iconic brews like Suntory Premium Malts, known for its floral aroma and creamy foam, or the crisp, clean Asahi Super Dry, which embodies the refreshing spirit of modern Japan. Non-alcoholic options such as Genmai Cha kettle tea and sparkling Saratoga spring water provide refreshing alternatives that pair beautifully with the complex flavors of the food.

Visitors also rave about the welcoming atmosphere here. The restaurant effortlessly balances a lively yet intimate vibe, perfect for casual dinners, family outings, or catching up with friends. Service at IPPUDO NY consistently receives praise for being attentive and friendly, enhancing the overall dining pleasure.

Real diners affectionately recall their experiences at IPPUDO NY: Shannon highlights the “absolute love” for the bao buns, especially the vegetarian option, describing it as a “light crunch with the soft bun” that’s so irresistible it’s worth a trip to New York just for it. David Ho’s enthusiasm is unmistakable as he recounts tackling an enormous special ramen that proved too much even for his appetite and that of his teenage son, yet left them both deeply satisfied by the flavors.

While some, like customer Cody Clark, appreciate the quality ingredients and presentation, they look forward to exploring more of the diverse ramen options on subsequent visits. Others note that although the broth can feel lighter than expected, the overall experience remains a worthwhile stop for anyone craving authentic Japanese ramen in New York City.

Ultimately, IPPUDO NY is more than just a ramen shop—it’s a culinary destination that brings the heart of Japan’s ramen culture to the bustling streets of Manhattan. Whether you’re a seasoned ramen aficionado or a curious newcomer, IPPUDO promises a sensory adventure filled with rich broths, artful noodles, and unforgettable flavors.

Top notch service and atmosphere. Had the karage, spicy gyoza and dragon tantan ramen. Wasn’t blown away by anything, but the ingredients were high quality and presentation was good. Would order a different bowl or ramen on my next visit.

Absolutely loved the food! It was amazing all of it. We got some of bao buns i had the pork and the veggie one and both was absolutely amazing! I have to highlight the veggie bao bun because it was a light crunch with the soft bun that was flavorful and delicious that i honestly would go back to NY just for this bun. Sushi was delicious and so was the ramen. the peppers we got for an appetizer were also very yummy! Everything we ate was incredible. The atmosphere was a really incredible vibe and you got to watch them make the ramen too! Definitely would go back.

Always love going to Ippudo! This was my first time going to this location and the vibes were great. Never a long wait and service was awesome. Tried the miso ramen this time and it was creamy and delicious- pork super soft and toppings added great flavor. The lychee soda probably one of the best sodas ever

not bad, but not as impressive as I expected. The ramen had good flavor, but the broth felt a bit lighter than the original in Japan. The noodles were nice, though the portion felt small for the price. Service was friendly and the restaurant has a nice atmosphere, but overall, it didn’t quite capture that “wow” factor. Still, it’s a decent spot if you’re craving ramen in the city.

What can I tell you…. One of my fav ramen places. Took my kids out for a meal… had a GREAT time. I got a special ramen that came in extra large. Apparently I was one of 2 ppl to order extra large in the past 2 - 3 months lol… I had no idea how big it was. It was frigggin enormous. I could not finish even with the help of my 16 yr old. Had to pack for home. But good lord was it tasty. The food was on point with broth rich with flavor and melty meats. Garlic toppings, spicy flakes and extra sauces galore. This meal was everything my boys and I needed at the end of a great day in the city.
